The Far-Western Nepalese Society of Maryland traces its roots to 2016, beginning as the FarWest Nepalese Welfare Trust in Baltimore. Today, we are a fully incorporated 501(c)(3) nonprofit serving the Far-Western Nepali diaspora across Maryland.

Our Programs & Initiatives
Cultural Programs
We celebrate and preserve Far-Western Nepalese culture through festivals, arts, and cultural events — including Bishu Parva, Dashain, Tihar, and community gatherings that foster heritage and belonging.
Education & Youth
Educational workshops, scholarship support, and mentorship programs designed to enhance opportunities for both youth and adults in our community.
Health & Wellness
We organize health camps, wellness programs, and awareness campaigns focused on the physical and mental well-being of our community members.
Sports & Recreation
FWNS-MD supports affiliated sports clubs in football, cricket, and volleyball. We host tournaments that promote teamwork, fitness, and friendly community competition.
Community Support
Our support services assist members in need — providing financial aid during illness, death, or disaster — and maintaining a strong safety net for every member.
Civic Engagement
We foster relationships with local, state, and federal government, advocating for the rights and representation of Nepali Americans in Maryland.
